Frequently asked questions
What it costs, how long it takes, what holds up in Texas heat, and what our 10-year warranty covers. If your question isn't here, call us.
Every floor is quoted on-site, because price depends on the square footage, the condition of the slab and the system you choose. We measure, moisture-test the slab and send your scope by text or email. Estimates are free and usually scheduled within 48 hours. For typical DFW price ranges, see our epoxy floor cost guide.
Because the slab decides the price. Cracks, pits, moisture and the system the space needs all change the number. Repairs are their own line items, so you see exactly what you're paying for instead of finding out mid-job. Anyone who quotes without seeing the slab is guessing.
We're based in Alvarado and serve Fort Worth, Dallas, Burleson, Mansfield, Cleburne, Joshua, Crowley, Midlothian, Arlington, Grand Prairie, Benbrook, Granbury, Waxahachie, Keller and Southlake. See our Fort Worth, Dallas and Alvarado pages.
For most garages, both. We roll an epoxy base coat, broadcast flake into it, then seal it with a polyaspartic topcoat. The topcoat does most of the heavy lifting: it resists hot tire pickup, shrugs off oil and brake fluid, and doesn't yellow the way an untopped epoxy will. More on the garage page, or read our full epoxy vs polyaspartic vs polyurea comparison.
Flake hides dust, tire marks and slab imperfections and has natural grip, which is why it goes into most garages. Metallic is seamless and dramatic, for living areas, showrooms and display garages, but it shows scratches more. Quartz is the most slip-resistant system we install, for kitchens, entries and anywhere that gets wet.
Flake floors have natural grip from the texture. Quartz is the most slip-resistant system we install, and we can add a slip-resistant additive to the topcoat for kitchens, entries, pool decks and anywhere that gets wet.
We diamond grind, never acid etch. Grinding opens the concrete to the profile the coating needs to bond. Acid etching is faster and cheaper, and it's why a lot of garage floors peel in year two.
North Texas homes sit on slab on grade, on clay that holds water. Moisture vapor pushing up through the slab is the most common cause of coating delamination, and it's invisible until the floor lifts. If the slab is pushing vapor we mitigate before anything goes down. If we can't do it right, we tell you instead of taking the job.
Hairline cracking is normal on North Texas slabs and manageable. We fill and repair cracks, pits and spalled areas as their own line items so they don't telegraph through later. Structural cracking or heaving should be fixed as concrete work first, and we'll tell you which you have.
Most residential garages are a two- to three-day job: grinding and repairs the first day, base coat and flake broadcast the second, topcoat the third. We don't do one-day installs.
Foot traffic is typically the next day. Vehicles wait 48 to 72 hours, longer in cold weather. We give you exact times at the final walkthrough.
Yes: vehicles, tool boxes, shelving on wheels, anything loose. We send a full prep list once your date is set.
Not if the prep is right. We diamond grind and moisture-test every slab, and we finish garages with a polyaspartic topcoat chosen for hot tire pickup, oil and UV. Every install carries a written 10-year warranty against peeling and discoloration.
Usually, but we diagnose the cause first. Recoating over a bad bond just buys you the same failure again. Most of the time it traces back to acid etching or untested moisture.
Yes. Outdoor slabs get UV-stable materials sized to their sun exposure, and slip resistance is built into the system. Sun is what kills coatings outdoors, so on some driveways and patios a stain and sealer is the better answer, and we'll tell you that at the walkthrough. See patios, pool decks and driveways.
Dust mop and damp mop. No harsh solvents. Put furniture pads under anything heavy. We send maintenance instructions with your warranty after the final walkthrough.
Every residential epoxy and metallic floor we install has a written 10-year workmanship warranty against peeling and discoloration, plus the manufacturer's warranty on the coating system. Both are stated in the bid before you sign, along with what's covered and what isn't: abuse, chemical exposure outside the specified system, and slab movement aren't workmanship.
Yes. Nights, weekends and holiday shutdowns are normal for us, not a surcharge, and fast-cure systems can put a floor back in service the next day. We carry $1M/$2M general liability and can add you as additional insured. See commercial floors.
Call or send us a few photos of the slab. Walkthroughs are free and we'll moisture-test while we're there.
