Outdoor concrete has different rules than a garage. We install to those rules.
UV ambers and clouds clear resins. A system that lasts a decade in your garage can look tired in two seasons on an uncovered patio. It's why we won't sell you metallic for an open patio no matter how much you like the look.
North Texas clay swells and shrinks with moisture. Exterior slabs move with it, and hairline cracking is normal, not a defect.
Slip resistance isn't optional outdoors.
Chairs, tables, and planters scrape a patio in a way nothing scrapes a garage floor.
We start by assessing whether the patio is covered, partly covered, or fully exposed — that decision drives the entire system spec. We grind or profile mechanically, repair what needs repairing, and select UV-stable materials sized to the actual exposure. Where the surface stays wet, slip resistance is built into the topcoat or sealer rather than added as an afterthought.

Concrete Stain — Color penetrates the slab instead of sitting on it, so there's no film to peel and UV can't fade it. Handles slab movement better than any coating, and the variegated look suits outdoor space. Best on a patio in decent condition.
Flake Epoxy — With a UV-stable topcoat. The right call if your slab is rough or patched and you want it uniform, since stain would highlight those flaws rather than hide them.
Quartz Epoxy — Where slip resistance is the priority over a smooth finish.
Metallic Epoxy — on an uncovered patio. The clear coat ambers under direct sun and the gloss is slick when wet. If your patio is fully covered and shaded, that's a different conversation — come talk to us.
Almost certainly. Hairline cracking is normal on North Texas slabs. We fill and address what needs it, and stain in particular handles future movement better than a rigid film.
Any concrete in full Texas sun gets hot. Lighter colors and textured finishes help. We'll steer you on color if the patio gets afternoon sun.
Usually close. Stain is translucent and reacts with your slab, so we test a small area first and you approve the real result before we do the whole thing.
We'll look at sun exposure and slab condition, then tell you which system actually fits.
